Kaskad Plastik was established in July 1998. The wholesale of plexiglas and other polymers has been our main business line for the last 21 years.

In 2002 our company became the official dealer of Dzerzhinsk Plexiglas Factory - DOS OJSC (Russia). Thus, we offer for sale the certified Russian products of the highest quality: plexiglas of ТОСП, ТОСН, ACRYMA, ACRYL brands, etc.

Together with these companies, Kaskad Plastik has a long history of close cooperating with producers in Europe, due to which, we import and sell various polymeric materials made in Europe in the territory of Ukraine ourselves.

Quinn plastics, ALTEC, ACRYMA, BorreX, SIMONA, DOS OJSC

The plexiglas are shipped from the warehouse in Dnipro.

Kaskad Plastik is open for cooperation, will promptly provide the     information of interest and is ready to agree the acceptable prices and terms of delivery!

History of plexiglass

The plexiglas was developed by German chemist Otto Röhm. He experimented with acrylic and methyl methacrylic acids for a long time, trying to create the transparent rubber.

In 1927, during one of his experiments, Röhm filled the cavity between two silicate glasses with a sample of acrylic acid. Having hardened, the polymer firmly fastened the glasses, thus the chemist made the world's first safe multi-layered glass.

Röhm immediately tried to polymerize the methyl methacrylate in the same way, and the obtained strong, solid and transparent material was easily separated from the mold. This was the precursor of all present brands of plexiglas.

The plastic obtained as the result of these experiments was called plexiglas and registered by Otto Röhm as a trademark in 1933.

The industrial production of plexiglas in Germany has begun since 1933. It immediately became in demand in mechanical engineering and aviation. There was the qualitative jump in the aircraft industry due to the plexiglas: new speeds required the improved pilot protection. The main element of this protection was the cockpit canopy. It began to be made of plexiglas.

In the USSR, the domestic analogue of plexiglas was synthesized in 1936 at the Scientific Institute for Plastic Research. The industrial production of plexiglas has begun since 1939.

Types of plexiglass

All types of plexiglas are made of acrylic acid. The process of its production is identical until the plexiglas molding, which is carried out by extrusion or injection method.

The extrusion method of plexiglass production is the extrusion of acrylic mass through the narrow gap. The formed plexiglass sheets are not limited in length, but are characterized by a narrow range of thicknesses.

The injection method is filling the special forms of standard size with liquid plexiglas. It has the length limitation, which is compensated by the varying thickness of the sheet.

The differences between these types of plexiglas are at the molecular level: different types of bonds between the particles determine the different properties of acrylic glass.
